Restaurant Review: Chelsea’s Chill Time Grill – Terrell

I was excited to try this place for a couple of reasons.

  1. It’s owned by Former WWE Superstar Sir Mo from Men on a Mission
  2. I heard the food was excellent
  3. Mostly A

My daughter and I went around 1pm and were seated right away. Of course, I ordered sweet tea.  I am a sweet tea junkie, and if it’s not right, it messes up my whole experience.

THE SWEET TEA IS ON POINT!

Not too super sweet, not too bland. PERFECT SWEET TEA!

We started with Fried Mushrooms as an appetizer and placed our order. The mushrooms came out hot and crispy with ranch dressing (from a bottle, but not bad) and they were cooked perfectly. They weren’t soft and gooey or hard.  Again, PERFECT FRIED MUSHROOMS!

My daughter ordered Chicken Fried Steak w/Mashed Potatoes & Gravy and Mac & Cheese. – I was shocked when her plate arrived with HOMEMADE MASHED POTATOTES WITH THE SKINS!  Everything is made fresh in house, and I LOVE the skins on my mashed potatoes! They were fluffy and creamy and delicious!  The Mac and Cheese was “some of the best ever” according to my daughter. I didn’t get to taste it because she tore it up!  The chicken fried steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Easy to cut with a butter knife, and tasted fantastic!

This plate we give:  4.5 out of 5 Stars (I wanted some Mac and Cheese dangit!)

My order was Catfish with Mashed Potatoes and Cole Slaw. Cole Slaw is one of those things that is HARD to nail down because it can have too much sauce, or not enough and then you’re just eating cabbage. :/ This was on the saucier side, but it was delicious.  Zeb, the chef, actually brought me out a new batch to taste as well! It was awesome too!  The catfish was hot! I mean, fresh out of the fryer hot! So I ate my cole slaw and mashed potatoes waiting for it to cool. When it was cool enough, the catfish was awesome! Very flavorful, the tartar sauce was great, and complimented the fish.

This plate: 5 out of 5 Stars!

Our waitress was super attentive and made sure our tea glasses never got empty! HUGE BONUS TO ME!

It was SO good, that when my wife got home from work, we went back for dinner!  I was amped up for it too!

My daughter ordered the Shrimp Po Boy with Fries.  It came out on a fresh hoagie bun, fried shrimp and all the goodies inside. She said it was delicious.  The shrimp was great, and the fries have excellent seasoning!

This basket: 4 out of 5 Stars

My wife ordered the Cowboy Burger with Mushrooms, onions and swiss with Mayo & Mustard and fries.  The burger came out perfectly cooked, juicy, but not too juicy and not too dry.  The fries are perfectly seasoned as well. My wife prefers homemade ranch, but their ranch isn’t bad.

This basket: 4 out of 5 Stars

I ordered a basket of Buffalo Wings with ranch and bleu cheese. WOW!  The flavor knocked my socks off (and opened my sinuses) they were great!  I will go back here again for sure!

This basket: 4 out of 5 Stars
